After graduating with a BA in Theatre Arts in 1983, Julie began her creative career in professional theatre in the Philadelphia area. Her theatre career included acting, directing, play writing, management and grant writing.
In 1999, Julie began studies in weaving, surface design, felting, beading techniques and glass bead making. Working with molten glass over a torch captured her interest and she focused primarily on torch work. After just 2 years of torchwork, Julie became the staff glass instructor for TLD Design Center and Gallery in Chicago. Julie has taught and shown her work at national shows and art centers.
Julie began creativity coaching in 2005 under the instruction of nationally know creativity coach Eric Maisel. In 2006, Julie founded and launched The Creativity Continuum, a working support group for female artists working in a variety of mediums. Julie curated the group’s annual art show for 3 consecutive years.
Julie is currently creating a new body of work which focuses on the sculptural nature of glass beads combined with hand-forged metal components. Visit the gallery section of this site to see her new work.
